Navidad's technical and business management team has the education, experience and skill sets required to successfully execute even the most complex development plan.

Harold E. McGowen III, PE, PMP – Chairman of the Board, CEO, and President  

McGowen is the founder of Navidad Resources, Inc. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S.M.E. in 1982 and currently has over twenty five years experience applying reservoir, production, completion, and drilling technologies to enhance profitability. 

 
McGowen is a certified Project Management Professional and a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas with extensive experience initiating, planning, controlling, and executing multidisciplinary technical projects with multimillion-dollar operations budgets. His primary specialization is optimizing production and maximizing economically recoverable reserves through infill drilling, workovers, recompletions, stimulations, and advanced completion systems. Areas of expertise include hydraulic fracturing, horizontal development, artificial lift design, field development plans, reserves projections, underbalance operations, corrosion control and multilateral completions.

Dr. Dale Wong, PhD – Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer

Wong graduated from the University of Toronto in Geo-Engineering in 1983. He began his career as an exploration and development geologist for Gulf Canada Resources, Inc. in Calgary. Shortly thereafter Wong changed his technical focus to reservoir engineering.In 1988 he returned to school and obtained a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from the Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine, London, England.

In addition to lending his talents to reservoir testing, evaluation, analysis, screening, and economic analysis, as COO, Dr. Wong is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Company in terms of supervising our future engineering and technical staff. As CFO Wong is responsible for overseeing accounting, financial planning and record-keeping for the Company. Wong’s primary role is developing and evaluating prospects for acquisition and exploitation. 

 

Dan George - VP of Land and Business Development

Dan George graduated from the University of Texas with a BS in Petroleum Engineering in 1984 and has accumulated over 20 years of diversified oil & gas experience in various technical, sales, and leadership roles. Dan knows this business from bottom to top, having worked on drilling rigs during college and lead Halliburton teams in the field for several years after college. Dan helped pay for part of his engineering degree by working at the Texas Railroad Commission as a Proration Analyst. Subsequently Dan began a lengthy and successful tenure in the software & consulting side of the energy business and later became involved in oil and gas mineral and proved producing property acquisitions. Since joining Navidad Dan has been immersed in a variety of land and business development projects and has overseen the successful acquisition of tens of thousands of mineral acres.  Moreover Dan has been instrumental in closing millions of dollars worth of joint venture deals for the company.  Dan manages all of Navidad's leasing activities and land related transactions. Dan's other responsibilities include building, maintaining, and leveraging key relationships and mineral owners, joint venture partners, land owners, and contractors. In addition, Dan is charged with negotiating deals with prospect generators and competitors that buy and sell properties. 

Mr. Mark Tarver – Chief Geologist

 Mark is an expert in Ark-La-Tex geology and productive trends with over 23 years industry experience, the vast majority of which has been focused in the East Texas Basin. Mark graduated from Texas Tech University – 1981 with a BS in Geology and a Minor in Geophysics. He started his career with Samedan Oil Corporation where he learned the art of prospect generation and oil field development. Since then Mark has been an independent production and development geologist, providing contract services and generating numerous prospects across East Texas, Arkansas, and North Louisiana. Mark has an enormous contacts base in East Texas, knows where the hot spots are, and has a keen eye for development opportunities.

Mr. Dwayne Thompson - Controller

Mr. Thompson is responsible for the corporate accounting of the Company.  He earned his BBA from Texas A&M in 1993 majoring in Accounting.  Dwayne has over 10 years of Controller level accounting experience within a variety of Industries ranging from Banking to Manufacturing and oil and gas accounting.  Controller duties include Financial Statement preparation, control over all of the accounting functions, including corporate tax filing, budgeting and financial planning.  Dwayne is also a member of COPAS (Council of Petroleum Accountants Society).
