Navidad’s engineers and geologists apply technologies that are the fruit of American ingenuity. Hydraulic fracturing is a proven and important technology that has been embraced across our industry as a method to unlock oil & gas reserves in previously un-producible formations. It has been safely utilized and perfected since the early days of oil and gas exploration more than 100 years ago, but the first commercial fracturing treatment was performed in about 1950. It took close to 30 years for engineers and geologists to perfect the process, but since then, the pay-off for America has been extraordinary. Here is a short video that explains the Hydraulic fracturing process and how it is used in our projects.
While we leverage our ingenuity, we rely upon the methods, tools and principles that have been used by explorationists for a hundred years, such as electric line logging originally invented by Conrad and Marcel Schlumberger in 1926 and continuously enhanced by generations of engineers and scientists since that time. We combine old fashioned exploration with new technologies and processes to not only stimulate production in old wells, but to jump start production in unconventional formations and in unfavorable locations. Here is another short video describing the Well Logging process that records the fluid properties to find hydrocarbon zones in the geological formations.
